I have to admit, I was super excited to receive this package in the mail!

Stir fry is one of my families favorite meals!  I was anxious to try Wanchai Ferry, considering it came with all the vegetables, chicken, and the rice.

My husband picked up one package of the Orange Chicken with vegetables.  The package was meant to serve 2.  It was probably the perfect amount for two people, however, we have 5, with only one package.  So he added an extra 16 oz package of frozen veggies to stretch the meal. 

Our opinion: Loved it! We already have a strong love for stir-fry and we found this quite tasty!  My kids ate all of it! The rice, the vegetables, and the chicken, without incidence or complaint.   And they loved using the chopsticks that were sent with our package.

As you know, one of our family goals for 2010 is to get 5 fruits and vegetables a day.  All of us!  The easiest way (meaning how to do it with the least amount of whining from the kids) that I have found to make this goal possible is to:

• Puree and add.  This method definitely has the least resistance.  I can add pureed veggies to entrees, soups, muffins, and even brownies.
• My kids love fruit dried! They’ll eat fruit leather, dried apricots, raisins, etc.
• Making fruits and vegetables accessibe.  When I purchase, chop, peel, present etc, they are more likely to partake, then when I keep our carrots wrapped in plastic on the bottom of the vegetable drawer.
• Make smoothies with fruits and vegetables both!  A dessert in itself, smoothies are a guaranteed success.
• Include produce with every meal.   At lunch, breakfast, dinner, I always try to include some sort of fruit or veggie.

And when all else fails, and you can’t get them to eat their fruits and vegetables in any other way…..They ALWAYS will say yes to:

• JUICE!!

I generally don’t reach out to product companies to review their things.  I get enough offers in my inbox, there is never a need to.   However, in our local paper the other day, I saw these ADORABLE shirts, and I had to contact them!!!
