Last night at our family party, my sister in law (best home cook in Utah), gave us all bags of her granola for Christmas. Then I woke up thinking how delicious it would be with apples and plain yogurt. I went to make some and post it this morning, and realized we left our Christmas granola bag at my mother in law’s house! We actually drove all the way back this morning just to get it, and my mother in law wasn’t home and the house was all locked up. Booooo! So, I bought some instead in the bulk bins at the grocery store.
But here is what we came up with:
- Granola
- apple
- cinnamon
- plain yogurt
Peel and chop one apple. Sprinkle cinnamon on apple chunks and microwave for 1 minute. Take out and stir. Microwave for one more minute. Take out and let apples cool.
Then layer yogurt, granola, apples, and yogurt to make your parfait. This is healthy enough to be breakfast, and delicious enough to be dessert!

Fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. In the summer I could eat them every day.
YUMMY! I love berries in my parfaits also.
I love these flavors together…I typically do the same thing with 0% fat Greek yogurt, but I use apple pie spice instead of just cinnamon. I highly recommend it…just like eating apple pie! You could also use pumpkin puree instead of apples and pumpkin pie spice – yum!
Great idea! I haven’t bought apple pie spice, but I certainly will add it to my list.
Thanks!
