Drama Mama: Homemade (even with added fat and sugar) in my book will always be healthier than fake food made with chemicals and preservatives. I'm glad you found some things you can use.
Jackie: You don't feel guilty because you've probably seen me (and my kids) indulging on desserts one too many times!
Teri: I’m sure you are doing a great job! Have you got your mustard yet?
Kendra: Thanks Kendra. Just a joke on people thinking the government is going to take away all our choices. Thanks for reading.
Thanks Shannon! Its true. Once our health is gone, its hard to reclaim it!
Vanessa: Its a great comment. I haven’t tried black beans in brownies as the entire substitute. Thanks
Kelly: I'm hoping they learn something.
Other Kelly: Thanks Kelly. I love hearing things like this. Doesn't it make you so proud when they say they have a vegetable they love!
Beth: Beth, you crack me up! Guess I need to lock my garage. I'm bringing you some Lorna Doones. Have you never donated Blood before? The red cross always brings those.
Great Story Texas mom! Nothing makes me crazier than when I am counseling with someone and they talk about how they are on a diet...but they have to keep Pop tarts in the house for the kids! I'm like NO, NO! Even though your kids LOOK fine, everyone needs to eat better.
Megan: I love Maggie! What a train wreck if two kids like that ever married! My final comment is, if your kids are growing, I'm sure you are doing just fine. And Maggie sure is growing.
Angee: Hope lots of people will check out your site.

My 9 year old says "Why do you always make things I hate?"
Speaking of sneaking in the beans. I make brownies with a can of black beans. Rinse the beans, put them back in the can, fill to the top with water, then put them in the blender. Stir it into a dry brownie mix and bake like normal. (no oil or eggs).
He requests these brownies. I'll tell him someday that they're made of beans.
If you think this sounds gross, you should try it first. They're tasty! and I don't really like black beans.

I'm a loyal follower, don't worry. I read and absorb so much about food and I like the way you make it so simple. I read something today.. you can reclaim a lot of things, but when you lose your health it's hard to get it back. Thanks for all of your good ideas and fun approach!

Thanks, Amy! I'll try to keep my guilt to a minimum today. I think I can handle smoothies once a week!

I will admit, I am one who can feel guilty reading blogs. I get overwhelmed with how much I should be doing, but am not.

BUT for some reason I have never felt guilty reading this blog. You add a really nice reality to your ideas. Now maybe it's because once upon a time I knew you.

I have found, and implimented, some great ideas from your blog. I tend to choose those that seem do-able to me. But it's nice to have my daily reminder that eating healthy can be easy.

Your new site looks awesome!!! I really love the colors =) And you don't scare me - you inspire me! Honestly, I keep reading more and more about preservatives in food (even some canned organic food!) and it's not good. I never really learned to cook, but most of the things I've found on your site I've been able to handle! Thanks for sharing your recipes!
