I recently found your site and love it! I am just wondering where we find the recipes on your menu plans that do not have links. Thanks!

Thanks for reading my blog Melissa. Usually they are from cookbooks I own, and am afraid to post the recipe for fear the copywrite police will hunt me down. I probably should at least link to the cookbook, but then I worry people will just think my only purpose is to sell stuff. Anyway, if you see something that sounds interesting, just email me, and I’ll be happy to send the recipe.

Clara has the smallest bedroom in our house, and we have to fit her twin bed plus the crib plus all their toys in there. I realized about a month ago that I was devoting about 5 times as much space to future hand-me-downs for the girls than I was for their current clothes and all their toys.
It was so liberating to go through all the boxes and say, “She only needs 10 short-sleeved shirts for next summer.” It’s still a ton of clothes, but it takes up much less space.
And if this next one is a boy, I’m going to have more purging of the rest of Mary’s baby stuff. (I already got rid of all her 0-12 month stuff because we were done – obviously)

Try not only have 10 short sleeve shirts, but 10 of the exact size, color, and style of the EXACT SAME SHIRT! One guess who we got those from!

PS I picked up some Lorna Doones for you today at Macey’s. I’m not joking either.

I just love your sight and love the pictures you post of the healthy food choices! You’ve taken out the complication of plain and simply healthy foods! However, with all this talk about eating “healthy”, something that used to be as simple as making dinner, has gotten really complicated. Fat, skinny, portion control, eating organic, being a vegetarian, processed food blah blah blah…It’s just food! Relax, you’re right, it’s JUST food.

Simple Solution: Make it easier on yourself and don’t take all the responsibility for what your kids eat! Make them accountable, why not? Parents all over the country have been lightening their load with the free and interactive website, Zisboombah.com. The revolutionary tool allows kids can do all the planning through “PickChow!” With a click, a drag, and a drop, kids can create their own balanced meal in a matter of minutes and then email it to their parents. Along the way, they are guided with meters to show them the nutritional content of each choice they make. The kids make their own choices, the kids choose what’s for dinner, and at the end of the day, the kid’s will make it easier on you!
