Round and round we go
FRIDAY: Exercise and family activity
Don’t just drop your kids off at the Ice/ Roller rink… skate with them.
We were quite surprised how well our kids did this year. We usually try to go ice skating once a winter. Just last winter, they were awful. Clinging to the side, or pulling us down. Crying that it was too hard. But this past year they have been roller blading so much more, it was like I had my own Scott Hamilton’s. The flip-flopper this year skated 37 times around the rink before falling once. She counted each loop. She is also my dramatic one, so once she fell, she cried until we left. They all did well. I fell twice. Once because Ketchup boy pulled me down, and once I actually don’t know what happened. It was too fast. I brused my knee cap up pretty good and it still kind of hurts.
Exposing your kids to various activities… even ones you may not like, helps to shape their physical interests. They may not like team sports, but they may love running or ice skating. How would they know unless they try!
