Dancing Queen
The American Heart Association recommends children get 60 minutes of physical activity DAILY!
The very creative Marie, over at Make and Takes has a fun Valentines game that gets kids doing exercises, while having fun! Check out her Heart Healthy Valentines Game.
What we did for exercise this week:
A good friend invited us to a class at the local college where she teaches the students to be dancing teachers. The kids had a blast and it was a great way to get some exercise.

Find a free dance class, host a neighborhood dance, or just blast your music and let your kids boogie down.
Have a great Valentines Weekend.

I think that video thing that you get to dance to would be fun – you stand on a pad that has colored spots on it or something and when the color comes up on the screen, you stomp on it. I think it’s called Dance, Dance or something creative like that.

I keep meaning to tell you…we LOVE HyperDash, the game you recommended awhile ago. Thanks for the recommendation to keep us moving during the cold, cold weather!

Got it!! I told you I would come up with a great whole wheat pasta recipe and while preparing this dish for my girls to have on Valentine’s it dawned on me- perfect for Super Healthy Kids. If I have already shared this forgive my pregnancy brain. I love Ellie Krieger from the foodnetwork and have adopted a lot of her recipes. This great one is Macaroni and 4 Cheese-http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ellie-krieger/macaroni-and-4-cheeses-recipe2/index.html It works for us and makes enough that we can eat it for lunches and dinners for a few days.

I recognize those rooms you’re dancing in like they are my own bedroom! How fun, I want to do that too!
